The process is simple and one can do it online also.
Visit the official website of Central Board of Excise and Customs at https://aces.gov.in/ and log in to your service tax portal with the registered id and password. Click on the option to obtain provisional ID for GSTN. The provisional ID and password will be displayed.
Next the user should go to gst.gov.in and click on New User Login. Terms and conditions will be displayed. Click on “I Agree button” and “Continue” tab to proceed. A list of documents required is displayed on the screen.
Scanned documents in the prescribed file size with respect to the entity and its directors/authorised signatories should be ready for uploading.
For private limited company following documents are required:
1. Incorporation certificate and constitution documents
2. PAN and ID proof of directors
3. Board resolution for signatories
4. Bank statement
5. Declaration to comply with GST norms
Upon entering provisional ID and password, and carrying out OTP verification, the user must enter unique username and password. Security question and answers should be submitted. Next step, the user needs to enter the new username and password which will take the user to the GST dashboard.
Business related information needs to be entered and pdf of constitution document must be uploaded. Further, the required HSN code relating to the nature of service should be selected and bank details entered.
