  1. If he owned an engineering company then it is pretty certain that he made a will. My guess is that the company was probably in joint ownership with his wife, though she might not have worked there. In which case it is her company. If there is no will it will go to his wife but there will be taxes to pay etc. She can then continue to run the business and have a good income. If you are considering only the property value and not the business as a whole, it will be divided according to the will. If no will it will go to his wife.
