  1. Normally, an export invoice sent through a local (the exporter’s) bank to the buyer’s is secured with a bank draft issued by the buyer’s bank to the exporter’s bank. The only way that an exporter, in my mind, will be able to ship a cargo to a buyer without going through a bank is when the buyer had issued either cash, manager’s cheque or any negotiable instrument acceptable to the exporter so as not to go through the banking and insurance (if I may add) system.
