What is the premium value for a 5000 Franc bank note?



An acquaintance has a collection of bank notes and coins of various countries. One of the bank notes is a 5000 Franc note of year 2003. Someone mentioned that this note is not in circulation now. Being a rare item collectors would pay a premium value for it. He’s eager to know what the value it could fetch.

  1. You did not specify from what country that 5000 franc bank note is from and there are more than 20 countries that use that monetary unit. However, I suspect that a 2003 note has only a very minimal collectors premium or none at all. Worse, it is possible that because of currency fluctuations the note is worth less in rupees than what it was in 2003. Collecting bank notes is by far not as big a hobby as collecting coins and such a recent issue may be counted in the hundreds of thousand or even millions of such printed notes.
