  1. You can deposit only Rs.25000 in cash in a branch when the account is maintained at a different branch of the same Bank. If you deposit more, they will charge the account holder at that branch. This is because every branch has a cash retention limit (cash limit to keep overnight in the branch premises). Any excess limit exposes to the risk as well as expensive, as the branch has make arrangement to lodge the excess cash in another main branch or currency chest. To discourage heavy cash deposits and to reduce the risk and expenses of the branch wherein you are depositing the cash, the charges are levied.
