  1. saving means that you are saving a file/folder.
    installation means you are trying to install a application into your computer.

  2. If you click Install, it will run the executable file from the internet site without saving it to your computer’s hard drive.
    If you select Save, it will save the executable file to the computer’s hard drive, then you can Run or double click to install thus having a copy of the install on your computer.

    Good for software installations.

  3. Installing a program means that the program adds some data to the registry and it integrates with your OS. Saving a program means it is a stand-alone version of the program. Saving means just copying some files and running the program.
