Hi , Would anyone know if the tax on an apartment unit (flat) construction is only on the labour part of the cost of construction and not the material. I see articles on the internet stating that only 1/3 of the construction cost should be subject to service tax but I am not entirely sure of this. So at the rate of 10.3% on a property of 20 lakh rupees, it should be 2000000 x (10.3 / 100) x 1/3 = 69000 rupees approximately.
Is this correct?
These days there are many options for pension plans with several riders ; A hordes of never heard names are floating in the market , like Aviva, Max Newyork, AXA besides our age old LIC, UTI. All claim to have best track records and offer the best scheme. I do not know whom to trust and do not understand their satistics of track records. Please tell me what is the best and how to comperhend that.
I invested 99000 in SBI UNIT PLUS II (49000+50000) in 2008. The Policy term is 5 years. So far I have paid 49000*4 and 50000*3. 50000 payment is due for this year. Now my agent says it is not profitable any more. Do I discontinue paying the premium? If yes, do I need to keep it alive till the end of PPT? Or if I surrender, what would be the loss?
