  1. Regional rural banks are also scheduled commercial Banks like Nationalized banks. Like in the case of PSU Banks the major stake belongs to the govt. of India with 50% of the share capital while the rest held by the respective State govt ( 15%), and by the Sponsored Bank (35%). The top executive of RRB is from the Sponsored Bank ( one of the many nationalized Banks.).
    The main source of income of an RRB is interest income which is one of the many sources for a nationalized bank.
    As the name itself suggests the major clientele of an RRB are rural whom the nationalized Banks are also serving.
    Thus both RRB & PSU Bank are similar.
