  1. U r very right that bajaj’s allocation charges r very high. And many more problems r there including a bad claim settlement.

In my suggestion stop paying the premiums…because it is not necessary.Locking period is for only 3 yrs which u have paid. Now wait for the right time.

Say if u have invested 30,000/- in 3 yrs(10,000/- per year) then u should surrender when ur value becomes at least 45,000/-

Remember that investing 10,000/- doesn’t mean that the whole 10,000/- has been invested.Keep in mind that from 10,000/- only 6000/- will be invested(approx).

This means in 3 yrs ur money invested is only 18,000/- not 30,000/-

So, the growth will start from 18,001/- not from 30,001/-

It will take time to reach that amount.Keep an eye on the sen-sex.And whenever u reach ur height withdraw it.

U can do one thing. If u can take risks then, switch ur funds to high risk funds. This will rapidly increase ur fund….but make sure that this means that u r actually taking risks because when market will decrease then ur fund will also decrease at that speed.

Talk to an expert. He can come to a conclusion for switching after reviewing ur age, amount & other details.

I think u forget about this policy.Keep it in safe for 2-3 yrs……This is the only option…

One important thing – IF U R PLANNING TO INVEST IN ULIPS IN ANY COMPANY IN FUTURE THEN PLS NOTE THAT THE LOCKING PERIOD WHICH WAS 3YRS IN EVERY COMPANY IS GOING TO BE CHANGED TO 5 YRS COMPULSORY LOCKING PERIOD IN EVERY COMPANY FROM 1ST DECEMBER 2009.THIS IS THE NEW GUIDELINES FROM IRDA TO ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES….

So, if u want to invest then invest in these 3 left over days only. After that u have to pay for 5 yrs.

One more suggestion from me is ALWAYS TRUST LIFE INSURANCE CORPORATION OF INDIA(L.I.C)

    IT IS THE BEST !!

CLAIM SETTLEMENT OF EVERY PRIVATE COMPANY IS REALLY VERY BAD INCLUDING BAJAJ, ICICI, HDFC, MAX NEWYORK & OTHER !!

  2. You can continue your policy for long term period. Because in any Insurance company the ULIP product will give you high return for long term period. So, you continue your policy for more than ten years.

  3. hi adi,
my advise is to continue. 1st you find out what is ur fund value if completed 3years.
if your having good value you go for partial withdrawl. otherwise send me the policy details i wll let you know abt your policy.

  4. This is the dilemma being faced by a number of people. They invested in ULIPs of Private Cos., as they were attracted by High NAV Growth. But they did not find out the allocation charges, which ate up their investment to a large extent. The return on the total amount invested is meagre and in some case even negative. Better exit and invest in ULIPs of LIC which have minimum charges
