  1. I’m not sure about this type of fund, but generally a Mutual Fund is never guaranteed. The amount of returns you get is unknown, and you could even lose money. Some types of funds are much safer, and others much riskier. Ask an advisor for more info. on this particular fund.



  2. This scheme invests money in debt instruments like debenture, govt bonds, corporate bonds, commercial paper extra. It dos not put the money in share market.

    Its performance has been quite poor. Annual returns have varied between 4.5% in 2005 to 8.5% in 2008. Average return of about 6% per year. So a fixed deposit is better than it.

    Sometimes I feel bad that people in our country are still stuck in no profit schemes of LIC and mutual funds. Even I was like that 3 years back. But now I have moved into share market and doing good.
