    The product in discussion is the Family Medicare Policy.

    This policy has been launched by United India Insurance Company.

    The Target Customers of this particular product are:

    * Existing Health Insurance customers having a sum insured of `1lac
    * Young Executives
    * Persons of Moderate to High Income
    * Business Persons

    FMP Sum Insured

    * Beginning from 1lac in multiples of `50,000 upto `5,00,000
    * `5,00,000 to `10,00,000 in multiples of `1,00,000

    Product Description

    * This policy covers all the members of a family under a single Sum Insured.
    * Family comprising of Self, Spouse and Dependent children.
    * FMP Age: Proposer between the age 18yrs and 80yrs.
    * Dependent Children between the age of 3yrs and 18yrs (provided both parents are covered concurrently)

    * Children above 18yrs will cease to be covered if they are employed/self employed or married.
    * Age limit of 18yrs will not apply: Unmarried and Unemployed girls, disabled children without income dependent on proposer.
    * Male children up to 26yrs can be covered (provided they pursue full time higher studies and submit Bonafide Certificate from Institution.

    * Tax Benefit: Premium paid for this policy is eligible for deduction under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act.

    Policy Benefits

    * Pre and Post: hospitalization expenses. (Actual Expenses subject to a maximum of 10% BSI)
    * Hospitalization Cover: In patient hospitalization for a minimum of 24hours.
    * Room rent, Boarding, Nursing Expenses @1%of sum insured.
    * IC Unit up to 2% of BSI per day.
    * Surgeon, Anaesthetist, Blood, Oxygen, OT charges, Surgical appliances, Medicines and drugs, Chemotherapy, Artificial limbs, Medical Practitioner, Consultants, Specialists fee.
    * All hospitalization expenses incurred for donor in respect of Organ transplant (excluding cost of organ, if any)
    * Expenses in respect of the following specified illness will be restricted as detailed below:

    10% of SI subject to a maximum of `25000/-

    Additional Benefits

    * Renewal discount: Get a 3% discount on the renewal premium after 3 consecutive claim free years and for every claim free year up to a maximum of 15%
    * Cost of Health Check UP: For every block of three claims – free years, 1% of the average SI will be provided towards the cost of the health check up.
    * Cashless hospitalization: To avail this facility Pre-authorization request to be sent or faxed to TPA immediately on admission.
    * Hospital Daily Cash Benefit: The policy will pay to the insured person a Daily Cash Allowance from the third day onwards for the period of hospitalization.
    * Cancellation Process: The insured may at any time cancel this policy and in such event the Company shall allow refund of premium at Company’s short period rate table provided no claim has occurred upto the date of cancellation.
    * Emergency Ambulance Charges: The policy will cover Ambulance charges in connection with admitted claim insured to shift the insured person from accident site to hospitals in emergency cases and from one hospital to another.

    Exclusions

    * Procedures/treatments usually done in Out Patient department are not payable under the policy even if converted as an in-patient in the hospital for more than 24hours or carried out in Day Care Centre.
    * Naturopathy Treatment, Acupunctures, Acupressure, Magnetic and such other therapies.
    * All non medical expenses of any kind.
    * Treatment arising from or traceable to pregnancy (including voluntary termination of pregnancy) and childbirth (including caesarean section).
    * Expenses on vitamins and tonic unless forming part of treatment.

  4. All are under guide line of IR DA rules and regulation in India.You can go for indivisible or family floater plan.Does not matter private or public.
    There should not be any ca ping for claim settlement,life time renewal,non claim bonus maximum,portability with non claim bonus.and which has maximum claim settlement,( report in IR DA site) cash less in network hospital or reimbursement.

    I suggest similar and innovative other Products in Apollo Munich Health insurance and I personally liked.
