  1. Uk answer (porbably doesn’t apply to US) Depends whether you re buying feehold or leasehold. generally they’ll look back 20 years or so.

  2. State bank of India ask for 30 years records before sanction of loan.

    In general people look for more than 13 years and the important thing is the seller must be in possession. His name, as owner, traceable in municipal and revenue records and the taxes paid up to date.
