Car insurance cover – Will it cover damage under the car?

I have a Maruti 800 car and covered by reliance insurance, i recently sped over a speed breaker and there has been a noise from the car ever since, i checked the car locally and was told that the right apron has cracked and was advised to repair the same immediately, i wanted to check if insurance would cover the same? Or will they try to get out of it saying that the damage is not visible openly, so they have no responsibility?

  1. It depends on your insurance company and the policy you purchased. In many cases this would be a collision claim as your car collided with the speed breaker, so you would be subject to your deductible. Your best option would be to speak with your agent first – before filing a claim – to ask them about your individual policy and your company. (If you file a claim and it is denied, it still stays on your policy as a claim and could contribute towards raising your rates, so it is best to speak with the agent first.)
