Can we claim both Life and General insurance at the same time?



I met with an accident and devolped a foot disability during my surgery. I hold two different policies Life and General insurance and both these policies have coverage for any sort of disability. I am confused whether i can claim for my foot disability on both the policies. Please advice……..

  1. Yes…u can claim that. In case of permanent disability, they mostly allows that.
    Though, you should read terms and conditions again!


  2. If you had opted for disability benefit/CRI alongwith life cover you can claim the same from company irrespective of your general insurance status. The disability benefit depends on the % of disability. Obtain a disability certificate.

  3. In life insurance policy & personal accident policy (general insurance), you have getting claim only, you are suffered by total permenant disability (partial/fully) . The percentage of claim settled by insurer depend upon injury to the policyholder as per policy conditions.
    If you taken medi-claim policy (genral insurance) you have getting benefit to under going for treatment only.
