can i get a mortgage without tax returns?

I haven’t filed taxes in several years. They always owe me money back. Just haven’t stopped long enough to collect all of the paperwork needed to file. Will this stop me from qualifying for a mortgage to consolidate my debts?

  1. Yes, it will prevent you from getting a mortgage. The way the bank will reason this is that the IRS will take the house away from you. Leaving them high and dry. You are simply a bad risk to banks

  2. I just got a mortgage a couple of months ago.

I had to submit current pay-stubs AND past W2s AND past tax returns.

These days, banks look for a reason to say “No”. Not having tax returns filed gives them a reason right from the start.
