  1. 5 to 10 yrs is o.k. for good return with assurance. ulip is not at all good choise. The information is not sufficient for me to give u advice. so kindly give your age, profession, income source. I am a professional financial advisor experince for more that 20 years. so, call me on 079-9824028199

  2. ULIP eats most of your return, also it is not easy to compare and switch to different and better fund houses in future. I would suggest that you invest half the amount in some debt scheme with systematic withdrawal plan to some good equity funds like hdfc equity, hdfc top 200, birla sun life frontline equity, dspml top 100 etc.
Buy term insurance, if you want to have insurance too
Half of the money, you can invest into good quality stocks (i would suggest you go for the TATA group stocks for steady returns and steady flow of good dividend yield) and hold for long term. Or for long term, you can directly invest in stocks in NHPC, SJVN, Opto Circuits, Bhel, L&T, NTPC, REC, PFC and good quality banking stocks.

  4. Mutual funds are so diluted because they usually have dozens or even hundreds of stocks in them, and so they almost always follow the market, BUT usually produce safer returns, though lower than investing in volatile and/or risky stocks. You could pick stocks such as “Blue Chips”
that are rock solid and create your own portfolio, thereby eliminating the middle man and certain costs, but then you would have to make sure of your homework, and believe in the stocks you pick. If you go with risky stocks, you stand to make the most money, or lose the most during the downturns. Also, you must consider growth and/or value when picking any investment, some stocks are really good for paying dividends, some pay no dividends but may increase a lot in share price, and some are somewhere in between.

  5. When it comes to investment there are so many options available. But when it comes to returns then share market is the best option. But the decision of investing in the market completely depends upon the ability to take risk and the the type of returns the person is expecting. When a person doesn’t have experience on his side he is bound take make the wrong choices. It is always advisable to consult experts before taking investment decision. Market analysts like Mansukh Investment and Trading Solutions can help you in overcoming such issues with the help of their accurate predictions and latest facilities like portfolio tracker and mobile updates for the customers.
    Best of luck
