Every cheque issued by an individual is valid up to six months and it expires after 6 months from the date of issuance. But in case of Bankers’ cheque, DD or Pay Order, Its validity is 3 months to 6 months. such validity period is already mentioned on the instruments (i.e. Cheque, Pay-order, DD). After its expiration the amount paid is forfeited by Bank accept in the case of issue of Cheque. In order to re-issuance of such cheque you will have to go to the Bank and consult the concerned authority and explain the valid reason for not using such cheque in written. They will entertain you positively.

A banker cheque is equivalent to demand draft. Banker cheque is valid in the same place of the issuing bank and demand draft is valid in other place. Both the instrument is valid for three months from the date of issue.for re validation you have to deposit it to the issuing bank and will have to issue a fresh one
